Yesterday was Labor Day and we spent the morning and afternoon at a friend's home. We ate, chatted, enjoyed a break in the Dallas heat wave, and swam. Swimming of course requires that I squeeze myself into a suit of some sort. Usually, I hate it. I feel fat and exposed and judged and it's junior high all over again. But for the first time in eleventy-billion years, I was not embarrassed to be seen in my suit. I'm not skinny or perfect or fit (yet), but just dropping 25 pounds made me feel comfortable in my suit - and more importantly, comfortable in my skin. Here's a shot of my and my son, Walker, in the pool!
